‘Not so obvious locks of the week’ are players who aren’t ranked in the top 10 this week, but who in my opinion, have the upside to finish there. If you want longer or interactive content, then subscribe to the channel and catch our weekly live episodes, including our start/sit advice live stream every Sunday at noon one hour before kickoff!
My QB not so obvious lock of week 3 is a rookie and one that is actually facing off vs a decent defense. So why the hell do I like CJ Stroud so much this week then? It’s simple, through two weeks, Stroud has already become more comfortable in the offense and he’s in games where he has to keep scoring.
Nico Collins and Tank Dell are legit talents and Stroud is already having success connecting with both of them on big plays. I would love to see Stroud run the ball more, when he does, the ceiling moves up even more for him. I don’t think the Texans win the game, but I do believe Stroud puts on a good show and proves why he deserves more respect in fantasy football.
He hasn’t won you any weeks yet and has not gone off in fantasy points like we had hoped, but we’re only in week 3 now and honestly, he’s been a TD away from turning blah weeks into hoorah weeks! Isiah is playing one of the NFL’s worst defenses in 2023, the Chicago Bears, so this is the perfect game to find the endzone.
When defenses have to worry about Mahomes’ magic all game, it makes Pacheco’s job easier and if the Chiefs get a big jump on the Bears early, Pacheco will be the perfect weapon to slow the game down so the Bears can’t counter.
The week 3 not so obvious lock of the week at WR is an electric playmaking rookie who currently sits in the top 27 at WR in fantasy points scored and now gets to face an ATROCIOUS Colts secondary. That WR is Ravens rookie Zay Flowers.
If you’re subscribed on YouTube, then you already know I love players who don’t necessarily need a ton of targets to make big things happen and Zay fits perfectly into that mold. He’s a legit threat to turn any play into a TD and against a defense that has been absolutely TORCHED this season, Zay is about to EAT in week 3!
When it comes to TEs in fantasy, if you don’t have one of the top guys, you should pretty much be streaming on a week to week basis. My not so obvious lock of the week at TE is Cowboys Jake Ferguson.
He’s not flashy, I get it, but when you lead the league in red zone targets, that means your QB trusts you when you’re in the game. This week the Cowboys face off vs the Cardinals, I’ll spare you on their defensive stats, but let’s just say, get Ferguson in your lineup.
